Friday Fun: Trump Rebrands ICE to NICE, Trolls Democrats and Liberal Media
By George Rasley, CHQ Editor
In a move that is driving Democrats and their media allies further into crazytown, earlier this week the Trump administration announced it would officially rename Immigration and Customs Enforcement from “ICE” to “NICE.”
President Trump endorsed conservative influencer Adam Carolla’s suggestion that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be renamed National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (NICE), the President wrote.
Posting on Truth Social, the president shared a tweet by a supporter suggesting the rebrand and musing that the change would mean “the media has to say NICE agents all day everyday.”
The “NICE” rebrand concept has long existed as a meme among Trump’s MAGA political base, particularly during periods of heightened criticism of ICE’s enforcement tactics.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt later shared an article reporting on Trump’s boost for the idea.
For his part Adam Carolla has continued to put energy behind the idea, telling FOX News host Jesse Waters, “Can you imagine Gavin Newsom?” the comedian joked to Watters. “These NICE agents pulling up in NICE vans!”
On Tuesday an announcement came directly from the White House, accompanied by a new insignia proudly displaying a golden bald eagle and the letters “NICE.”
The bold rebranding is intended to signal a fresh era for border enforcement and immigration policy for an agency that has been demonized by the left for years.
While grassroots MAGA celebrated the Democrat meltdown over the possible name change White House insiders emphasize that the shift to NICE is part of a wider initiative to improve morale, restore pride to immigration enforcement, and modernize how the agency interacts with the public.
And, as our friends at Lifezette observed, by changing the narrative around immigration enforcement, the administration aims to make clear that protecting borders is not “cruel.” it’s necessary, lawful, and deeply American.
Critics on the left, predictably, are already scoffing at the new name. Some progressive pundits mocked the rebrand online, calling it “cosmetic” or “propaganda.”
Yet the mockery only shows how out-of-touch they remain with the majority of Americans who actually support sensible border enforcement.
For years, Democrats painted ICE agents as villains rather than public servants. Now, with NICE, the Trump administration is actively rejecting that toxic framing.
We should note the White House has not formally announced any steps toward implementing the proposed name change, and it remains unclear whether Trump’s directive signals a genuine policy initiative.
ICE, established in 2003 under the Department of Homeland Security, is responsible for enforcing federal laws governing border control and customs.
Any official name change would likely require, at a minimum, formal administrative action and probably legislation by Congress, as well.
