Conservatives Urge Congress To Implement President Trump’s America First Investment Policy Without Delay

In May 2013, then-Vice President Joe Biden helped engineer a Memorandum of Understanding between agencies of the U.S. and Chinese governments that allowed PRC companies access to American capital markets not enjoyed by our companies or those of any other country. That was a monumental strategic error and has put our nation and people needlessly at risk.
As a result of not having to comply with our laws and regulations designed to protect investors, Chinese companies, even military ones, could – and did – tap into trillions of dollars from mostly unwitting American investors’ pension funds, 401(k) plans, college savings, mutual funds and other investment vehicles.
In short, we have provided the Chinese Communist Party with money used to pursue its stated ambition to destroy this country. At the moment, the CCP seems perilously close to initiating a shooting war for that purpose.
The good news is that President Trump recently unveiled an “America First Investment Policy” to end and replace the China First one Wall Street prefers. The bad news is that four major U.S. investment banks – J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs – are trying to subvert the new policy by helping a Chinese military company known as CATL raise at least $7.7 billion, and possibly considerably more, in the near future.
Conservatives stand with President Trump and his directive to halt U.S. capital markets’ underwriting of our enemy, the Chinese Communist Party. We call on him to enforce his America First Investment Policy by barring U.S. investment banks and other firms from undermining it and otherwise betraying our country and her people by investing in China First.
