Mike Pence is Exploiting the Pro-Life Movement to Derail RFK Jr.’s Confirmation
This is all a smokescreen to protect Big Pharma and Big Ag…

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. took a shellacking from Pharma-owned Democrats during his confirmation hearings for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) last week, much of it performative and irrelevant, but it could be the professional pro-life movement, Pro-Life Inc., led by disgraced former Vice President Mike Pence, that ultimately torpedoes RFK Jr’s candidacy.
Pence founded Advancing American Freedom (AAF) for the purposes of torpedoing RFK Jr’s nomination to the HHS. Pence is cynically repurposing familiar conservative talking points to cajole Republican senators into rejecting RFK Jr’s bid, using pro-life ideology as a smokescreen to protect Big Pharma and Big Ag.
There are hundreds of decisions made every day at HHS that either lead our nation toward a respect for life or away from it—decisions about federal funding for Planned Parenthood, regulations on the abortion pill (currently accounting for three out of every five abortions), insurance coverage of abortion, and more,” AAF President Tim Chapman and AAF Board Chairman Marc Short wrote in a letter meant to influence Republican senators.
“Whatever the merits of RFK Jr’s Make America Healthy Again initiative—indeed, whatever other qualities a nominee might possess—an HHS Secretary must have a firm commitment to protect unborn children, or else bend under the pressure and pushback surrounding these daily, critical decisions,” Chapman and Short added.
Pence is following in a shameful tradition of using pro-life rhetoric to undermine President Trump and the MAGA agenda. Just last year, Pro-Life Inc. undermined President Trump throughout his presidential campaign. Lobbyist Lila Rose had the audacity to call Trump/Vance a “pro-abortion ticket” during a crucial period in the 2024 election cycle.
“A Trump win is not a pro-life win right now,” Rose said. “Pro-lifers will need to challenge both leaders either way. We only help Trump by sounding the alarm — Trump is losing pro-life votes regardless of what I say — because of his own actions.
”In backlash to her anti-Trump rhetoric, Rose was widely ridiculed as a grifter on X by patriots who noted that her non-profit organization Live Profit was spending millions on garish dinners and salaries while giving very little to actual pro-life advocacy. She would finally endorse Trump for president shortly before the election when it was clear he would defeat Harris.
After the issue of abortion became a political football that motivated women to show up at the polls in record fashion to vote Democrat in the 2022 midterms, Pro-Life Inc. demanded for Republicans to double down on the failed election strategy during the presidential election. Marjorie Dannenfelser, a Catholic and CEO of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, criticized Trump harshly for taking a constitutional states’ rights stance on abortion.
“If this movement cedes the territory to the states only and says that your geography is predictive of whether you live or die in our country, then this movement is headed for the ash heap of history, in my opinion,” she said.
If President Trump had listened to these voices, he may not have been in office to pardon 23 anti-abortion activists who were thrown in prison for exercising their conscience. The Republicans would be a permanent minority party, unable to legislate or change the laws of the nation, and that is perhaps the preferred outcome for Pro-Life Inc. Trump’s tangible victories, including the repeal of Roe v. Wade, have jeopardized the Pro-Life Inc. grift, which depends on their followers believing that reform is just out of grasp.
RFK Jr. may be a less than ideal choice for HHS Secretary on the grounds of doctrinaire conservatism, but his inclusion in the MAGA agenda is crucial for achieving its potential. RFK Jr. has taken more flak for his opposition to vaccines, the pharmaceutical drugging of society, and the poisoning of America’s food than Pro-Life Inc. ever has on their privileged sinecure circuits. Courageous men of action like RFK Jr. are shunned by Pro-Life Inc. while blatant fraudsters like Pence are allowed to piously parade around as heroes for spewing canned talking points while doing nothing.
Thus far, two of the largest pro-life organizations, Students for Life of America and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, have not opposed RFK Jr. to their credit, but they ought to be doing more to help assure his confirmation. Protecting life begins in the womb, but it does not end in the womb. Children growing up in a world dominated by ruthless transnational corporations, plagued with chronic illness, poked and prodded with experimental chemical cocktails should be something that all pro-life activists oppose. Trump has earned the trust of all pro-life activists, and it is past time for the movement to get fully onboard with MAGA.
