Congressmn Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) joins The New American for a wide-ranging interview covering some of the biggest news items at the start of the new year, a including the childcare fraud scandal in Minnesota, U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, and his bill to Get US Out! of NATO. Rep. Massie explains why he was the only House Republican to vote against the major $8 billion federal childcare funding program, raising questions about the constitutionality of the program to begin with. The interview also examines recent U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, the arrest of a foreign head of state, and the dangerous precedents such actions may set for the United States and by foreign adversaries seeking an excuse to remove or neutralize perceived threats. Additional topics discussed include U.S. sanctions, oil and the dollar, congressional war powers, and Massie’s legislation
