Lies and Liars
By Brent Regan
Politics is full of lies and liars. You have lies with little or no consequence all the way to the big whoppers. Trump is famous for the little lies, exaggerations and hyperbole, but generally he is directionally correct while stretching the truth as to degree or effect.
Some of the biggest lies are hoaxes told or propagated by the media. Examples include the Fine People hoax or the Hunter Laptop is Russian Disinformation hoax or the Insurrection hoax. These lies are serious enough to change the outcomes of elections.
The liars can be institutional, designated, delusional or anonymous. The Democrat Party, far more than the Republican Party, institutionally constructs entire realities based on falsehoods. A party financed by George Soros, Reid Hoffman, Michael Bloomberg and Dustin Moskovitz complains that the Republicans are an oligarchy, run by a small group of rich men. Democrats claim men make better women than women. They accuse Trump of being Hitler, until he isn’t. They told us Biden was mentally competent. They take credit for the Civil Rights Act when it was Republicans who passed the legislation. They accuse Republicans of being racist while they promote racist policies like DEI.
Because of their institutional mendacity, the Democrats have backed themselves into a corner where they are supporting positions that are wildly counter to public opinion. Undaunted by the facts they resort to domestic terrorism against an all American electric car company because the African American man who runs the company is a proponent of popular Republican policies and a supporter of President Trump.
Democrats also have a phalanx of Designated Liars. These are individuals the Democrats trot out when there is a lie so outrageous that even Chuck Schumer won’t be the first to utter it. When Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, Jamie Raskin, John Brennen or James Clapper step up to the microphone you know that whatever follows will be completely detached from reality. Designated Liars usually precede the talking points that appear simultaneously across the Democrat Party and the media.
One step below are the Delusional Liars who construct entire realities of prevarication. They breathlessly describe issues or threats that are nothing more than complex constructs without a basis in fact. Some of a delusional liar’s tells include their need to self-identify. They will have a tag line declaration “I am a lifelong Republican” or “I am a conservative Republican.” But why would they need to state this? If they truly were a Republican it either shouldn’t matter or you could tell from the writing.
Their writings are usually critical of Republicans and they often adopt the Democrat positions or talking points. “Being a Republican” is part of their delusion. They need to repeat this in an attempt to convince themselves. Greg Graff and Jim Jones are textbook examples of delusional liars. Jones claims to be a Republican but criticizes only Republicans while he spews Democrat talking points like “Ivermectin is horse wormer” and “masks work.” He endorses Democrats against Republican candidates.
Graff’s writings are so over the top they are worthwhile reading only for the humor of their absurdity. One can imagine him pushing a shopping cart full of aluminum cans while muttering about conspiracies and plots against him. The modus operandi of Delusional Liars is to tear down the opposition in a misguided effort to elevate themselves. Pro tip: It doesn’t work.
The best that can be said about the Delusional Liar is that at least they operate under their own names. If you sink one step lower into the swamp you find the Anonymous Liar. The Anonymous Liar will create a PAC or other identity and then operate behind that shield. Once that identity has been sullied they will create another entity and then operate behind that one.
An example is when former chairman Tom Luna, lobbyist Trent Clark and adulterers Ashley Brittan and Tyler Hurst formed Gem State GOP, which was changed to Gem State Conservatives (GSC) after receiving a Cease-and-Desist letter from the National Republican Party. GSC spearheaded a failed attempt to take over the Republican Party at the Precinct Committeeman level. Their failure cast a deep stain on GSC which explains why the group has now been reconstituted into “Party Watch.”
Party Watch (PW) recently sent out an email financial “analysis” which set a record for the most lies for column inch. Whatever conclusion Party Watch reaches or implies, you can believe the opposite is true.
PW Lie: Luna raised more money that Moon. Truth: Moon $1,552,627 vs Luna $1,285,569
PW Lie: Luna spent $66,619 promoting candidates. Truth: The bulk of the money Luna spent went towards his self-promotion on Red Wave Radio, a move which caused Town Square Media to be fined $500,000 by the FCC for improper reporting.
PW Lie: Moon claimed $19,481 in personal travel expenses. FACT: Moon and FOUR volunteers crisscrossed the state attending events and conducting Presidential Caucus training in EVERY county.
PW Lie: Moon spent $143,992 on meals and travel while Luna only spent $33,988. Truth: When Luna was voted out he left a $60,000 unpaid bill for the (terrible)Delegate meals at the convention. An honest analysis shows Moon spending $30,000 less than Luna.
Falsus in uno (alt plures), falsus in omnibus.
In 2024 alone Dorothy Moon organized and oversaw a state wide Presidential Caucus for 600,000 Idaho Republicans. She personally conducted Caucus training for many of the county and legislative district committees. Next came the Primary Election where she helped defeat a hostile takeover of the Republican Party, followed by organizing the State Convention followed by organizing the Idaho Delegation for the Republican National Convention where we selected Donald Trump to be our candidate for President. This was followed by the General Election where she coordinated the highly successful state wide fight against Proposition 1.
An honest person can clearly see that Dorothy Moon is an excellent chairman of the Republican Party.
It’s just common sense.
