The Big Con

The Big Con

Now that Elon Musk has pulled the mask off the deep state, Americans are shocked by the massive grift operations being exposed — operations that have been in place for decades.  Perhaps an even greater shock is watching Democrats try their best to make it all about Musk in an effort to divert attention from the fact that taxpayers have been robbed of hundreds of billions of dollars.

Elon, of course, is nothing more than an outside auditor.  He has no power to change policies or enact laws; he is simply investigating the massive waste, fraud, and abuse that has taken place over the years and reporting it to the president.  It’s a hard fact of life for Dems to swallow, but Trump can hire any consultant he so chooses, especially if the consultant works for nothing, which is the case with Musk.

Democrats are hysterical about all this, not because the government programs being audited are important to the health and wellbeing of Americans, or even citizens of other countries, but because they are longstanding money-laundering operations for the left.  Put simply, there are thousands of government programs that constitute a massive slush fund used to promote radical-left policies.

As always, Democrats have fallen back on one of their favorite strategies — projection.  When they demand that Musk “keep his hands off our money,” it’s to distract from the fact that Musk is actually trying to get politicians to keep their hands off taxpayers’ money.  The fact that Democrats are openly referring to government largesse as their money tells you everything you need to know about who benefits from this massive grift.

The most naïve among us are perplexed as to why Democrats are so distraught over DOGE’s efforts to expose government waste and fraud, but it’s really not all that complicated.  Plain and simple, people do not like change, because change is difficult, especially when it exposes your crimes.

That’s why radical leftists are calling the offices of Democrat lawmakers and demanding that they “stop Trump.”  That’s right, they are lambasting Democrat House members and senators for not doing more to stop Donald Trump from carrying out the will of the majority of Americans who voted for him and his agenda.  It’s their unique version of how to save democracy.

What is happening in Washington is a delicious sight to behold, because it shines a spotlight on the fact that Democrats are at war with voters.  In the 2026 midterms, they are going to be in the uncomfortable position of having to defend why they vehemently oppose government being audited and why they are against cutting government spending.

Interestingly, while Dem crazies continue to put on a show of resistance for their radical base, Hakeem Jeffries came out with a somewhat childish proclamation saying that Democrats are committed to “lowering the cost of living.”  What a unique idea.  And here all along millions of voters assumed politicians are always trying to lower the cost of living for their constituents.  Jeffries’ proclamation apparently means that making their constituents’ lives more affordable is something Democrats have never thought of before.

It’s a bit silly on its face, but even sillier when you dig into it.  Exactly how do Democrats intend to lower the cost of living?  Through price controls that would create shortages and increase prices?  The kinds of things government can do to actually lower prices include dramatically increasing fossil-fuel production, dramatically cutting regulations, and, by far the most important thing, halting the nonstop increase in the money supply, which would require dramatically decreasing government spending.  Since Democrats are radically opposed to all of these things, the reality is that they can never do anything to lower the cost of living.

Nevertheless, as ridiculous as it sounds to hear Hakeem Jeffries talk about lowering the cost of living, you can expect to hear a lot of this kind of gibberish between now and the 2026 midterms.  As half-sane Democrats like John Fetterman, Rahm Emanuel, and David Axelrod admonish crazies in the Democrat Party to ease up on the name calling and stop taking positions that fly in the face of what voters say they want — especially the hysteria over Republicans having the gall to audit the government — look for Democrats to switch to the Big Con.

Out of desperation, Kamala’s handlers used the Big Con in the last election when they had her parrot Trump on policies like no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security, and funding a border wall.  With the 2026 midterms on the horizon, look for Democrats to increasingly try to hijack Donald Trump’s policies and proclaim they are determined to implement those policies if voters come to their senses and put them back in office.

That said, pulling off the Big Con is not as easy for Democrats as it used to be, because, thanks in no small part to the Internet, millions of formerly Democrat voters have become knowledgeable, and knowledge cannot be erased.  As Thomas Paine explained it in Rights of Man, “Ignorance is of a peculiar nature: once dispelled, it is impossible to re‑establish it.  It is not originally a thing of itself, but is only the absence of knowledge; and though man may be kept ignorant, he cannot be made ignorant.  … it has never yet been discovered how to make a man unknow his knowledge or unthink his thoughts.”

Obviously true, but you can be certain that won’t prevent Democrats from trying.
