Biden As Arsonist And Fireman In The Middle East

We’ve often remarked about how Democrats play the arsonist and then try to be the fireman when their policies fail.*
For example:
Democrats flood the economy with massive federal spending programs, then fight the resulting inflation on the backs of America’s working families with high interest rates and rising unemployment.
Democrats attack law enforcement, defund the police, and elect Soros-backed prosecutors who release criminals with a slap on the wrist, and then demand big increases in spending for their favorite social programs to “rehabilitate” career criminals.
As our friend Frank Gaffney explained in one of his must-listen “Secure Freedom Minute” broadcasts, now this same dynamic is playing out in Joe Biden’s Middle East policy.
Fresh from his whirlwind visit to Israel, Joe Biden, will provide tonight a report on the war there. It’s unlikely to be either a complete or honest rendering.
After all, that would require him to take substantial responsibility for this conflict. While Beijing and Tehran enabled their Hamas proxy’s genocidal invasion, none of that would likely have happened but for Team Biden’s anti-Israel machinations since it came to office.
Biden’s wrecking operation – aimed not only at destroying Donald Trump’s Mideast legacy but isolating and undermining the Jewish State and its government – has transformed the relative security Israel and other pro-American nations there enjoyed in November 2020 with an incipient regional conflagration.
Joe Biden’s making U.S. weapons resupply contingent on Israel allowing what amounts to the resupply of Hamas in the guise of “humanitarian relief” is, shamefully, more of the same.
But this is hardly the first time, or the only instance where Joe Biden has acted as both the arsonist and the fireman in the war-torn Middle East.
Back in February of 2021 Biden ended support for the Saudi-led side in a five-year civil war in Yemen. The civil war has pitted a Saudi-led group against the Iranian-led and supplied Houthi movement – a Sharia supremacist militia responsible for countless killings in the Arabian Peninsula region’s poorest country.
The Houthi slogan is “Allah is Greater, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse the Jews, Victory to Islam” and they have set about implementing that slogan with a ferocity that has seldom been matched, save for in the ISIS Caliphate at its bloody zenith.
Yet, just a month earlier, the new Biden administration sent a convoy of U.S. trucks and armored vehicles back into Syria – their mission was never spelled out by the Biden administration, but previous U.S. units have been tasked with preventing the overland link-up between Iran and their proxy the Hezbollah militia in Syria and Lebanon.
So, just to be absolutely clear about what is going on, the Biden administration was allegedly blocking Iran in the north of the Arabian Peninsula (Syria and Lebanon) while at the same time empowering Iran in the south of the Arabian Peninsula (Yemen).
The problem is, the two zones of engagement have a very clear nexus – Iran – and Iran has equally clear goals, as the Houthis put it, “Allah is Greater, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse the Jews, Victory to Islam.”
The Iranian goal in Syria and in Yemen was and is the same – create a safe zone for the expansion of Iranian religious and military influence against the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. It made no sense to put American troops in harm’s way in Syria while withdrawing support for Arab forces that were actually fighting Iran and its allies in Yemen.
And now, Biden is doing the same thing in the most recent Israel vs. Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran war.
While Biden has announced plans to give Israel the military aid it needs to replenish its arms and take on Iran’s Gaza and Lebanon-based terrorist proxies Hamas and Hezbollah, he is also giving them the means – food, water, medical supplies, and fuel – to keep attacking Israel.
If limiting the projection of Iranian military force and influence remains an American strategic goal, the Biden administration appears to be working against itself by letting Iran have its way in Yemen, Gaza and Lebanon, while blocking its aspirations in Syria.
