IT’S ALWAYS THE SEASON TO PROTECT KIDS!

CDA Library will be giving a book at their ‘Kid’s Book Club’ that includes two young women (one of which is a main character,) who hug, kiss, and snuggle which confuses and stuns an onlooking character.

This “Kid’s Book Club” is offered for 9–12-year-old children.

AMAZON LINK TO ABOVE REVIEWS

The Korean cultured book uses gender neutral names the characters revealing their relationship in the last chapter.  100’s of Amazon reviewers and Korean parents are upset.

Though the library encourages parents to read and review books before signing up children for the Book Club, they have provided no warning of the book’s content. While parents are busy working often times 2 or more jobs in this tough economy to provide for their families they cannot be expected to review and read the entire book before the event. We as a community are paying for our libraries with our taxes! So, our libraries must represent us and respect parental rights.

Clean Books 4 Kids, a local group of concerned citizens requested that the library choose a different book. That was not done. They said they may consider a warning in the future.

Clean Books 4 Kids is petitioning Coeur d’Alene Library to:

Refrain from using LGBTQ+ for future Kid’s Book Club selections.

For all future Kids’ Book Club and Storytime, include a “controversial topic” disclaimer on these event notices.

Parents have a right to choose for their children but to do so they need to be fully informed.
