The Power of Silence
It was interesting watching Tony Bobulinsky once again carve up the Biden crime family in his most recent interview with Tucker Carlson. It seemed obvious that he is the epitome of an honorable, upstanding ex-naval officer who places a premium on faith, family, and country, which is why I tend to believe every word that comes out of his mouth.
In his interview with Tucker last week, Bobulinski repeatedly said that he not only is willing to meet with the FBI and answer any and all questions they would like to ask him, he extended the same invitation to all the major news outlets. You don’t make that kind of offer unless you have nothing to hide.
It will be interesting to see if either the FBI or anyone in the media takes him up on his offer, because all of them, unlike Bobulinsky, do have a lot to hide. It would be great if it happened, but I’m not holding my breath given that for years all of them contended that the Hunter Biden laptop story and, by extension, all other Biden crime-family stories were nothing more than “Russian disinformation.”
The FBI has a more difficult problem than the media, because if Republicans take control of both the House and Senate, Christopher Wray and many FBI agents and operatives will be hauled before Congress to answer a slew of uncomfortable questions, beginning with why they have not followed up on Tony Bobulinsky’s claims and investigated the mountains of evidence he has already shared with them.
Aldous Huxley brilliantly described what has been at play here when he wrote: “Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects … totalitarian propagandists have influenced opinion much more effectively than they could have by the most eloquent denunciations. ”
This is the strategy that the leftwing cabal — Democrats, the FBI and DOJ, mainstream media, corporate America, and social-media giants — have used successfully for years. Before the 2020 election, PBS went so far as to say, “We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions.” How thoughtful of them. And to rub insult into injury, you and I are helping to fund NPR!
Leftists have become masters at the art of silence. Simply ignore, and even censor, the truth and count on people forgetting about it. In the meantime, elections can be won and new laws can be passed that give more power to the D.C. establishment. As recently as 2020, this strategy resulted in hijacking an election, overriding the Constitution, illegally importing millions of new voters, destroying the economy, and much, much more.
What is remarkable is that Democrats can blow Republicans out of the water every day of the week when it comes to conviction, determination, and action, yet Republicans have managed to avoid extinction. That, I believe, is due at least in part to Democrat overconfidence. The Dems have gotten away with so many illegal shenanigans over the years that they assume they can use the same playbook forever. They cannot accept the reality that even though you can fool some of the people all of the time, you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.
Even so, thanks to the fecklessness of Republicans, Democrats were able to bury the Hunter Biden laptop story long enough to get Joe over the finish line and keep control of the House and Senate in 2020, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they would try it again in an effort to head off a red wave in November.
Now, however, the story is out that the DOJ may prosecute Hunter Biden, but why now after four years of doing nothing? The only thing that makes sense is that the Feds could give Hunter a plea deal whereby he admits to one of his lesser crimes in exchange for a small fine and no jail time. As a bonus, even with a Republican attorney general in office following the 2024 presidential election, Hunter would be at least partly shielded from further prosecution with double-jeopardy protection.
Even more important, it would give the Big Guy an excuse to resign from his make-believe presidency and hightail it to Delaware. I can just hear him announcing to Americans that even though he did nothing wrong, he doesn’t want to put the country through anymore anguish. The media would gush over his selflessness and the sleeping dead among us would applaud his “patriotic” attitude. And, of course, because he would be an ex-president, the tab for his cushy lifestyle in Delaware would be picked up by taxpayers.
It has taken the FBI and DOJ four years to “investigate” Hunter Biden, four years to discover that he’s guilty of two relatively minor offenses — tax evasion and lying on a federal gun form. During that time, they have completely ignored the serious felonies of the Biden crime family, which include, at a minimum, money laundering, failure to register as a foreign agent, and massive influence peddling with China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania.
Obviously, no one can be certain of how things will play out, but if it’s a scenario whereby Joe heroically steps aside, Republicans will once again be tested. Will they allow the most corrupt politician on the planet to slip away into the night without any consequences and encourage the country to “move on to more important things,” or will they have the backbone to prosecute him?
Doubtful that Republicans will step up to the plate, but the one thing you can count on is that Democrats and their deep state and media allies will continue to play the silence card.
