Essential Strategy: 4 Steps to Nullify Federal Gun Control

Essential Strategy: 4 Steps to Nullify Federal Gun Control

By Michael Boldin

If you’re like me, you’ve been hearing a constant barrage of attacks on the 2nd amendment – and your natural right to keep and bear arms.
Personally – I think things are at an emergency level. But at the same time – I’m not going to feed you a line of garbage. There is no easy fix to what we face today. There is no … silver bullet.

Since the founding generation considered the right to keep and bear arms so essential, we’ve spent a LOT of time on the 10th Amendment strategy to protect the 2nd Amendment. That is, learning how to defend it even when the federal government refuses to do the right thing (which is constantly, by the way.)

As Samuel Adams put it – “All might be free if they valued freedom, and defended it as they ought.”

Keep in mind, this isn’t going to be easy. And while we’ve got a few wins on the board in the states, there’s a LOT more that needs to be done.

Thomas Jefferson was right: The ground of liberty is to be gained by inches, that we must be contented to secure what we can get from time to time, and eternally press forward for what is yet to get. It takes time to persuade men to do even what is for their own good.”

We’re in it for the long haul here – and we’ve learned through the years what’s effective and what isn’t. With that in mind, here are the 4 Essential Steps to Nullify Federal Gun Control – or at least get the ball rolling in that direction.

I covered these all in much more detail in a full podcast episode that you can listen to or watch HERE.

1. The right to keep and bear arms is a natural right. Not a gift from government. It’s not something we get FROM the constitution or the 2nd Amendment. We have this right from our Creator, at birth.

This is essential. Because as soon as we take a position that we have “2nd Amendment Rights” rather than a natural right to keep and bear arms, then the people with power – will ALWAYS end up using that power to define the limits of their own power.  (as long as the people keep letting them, that is)

2. We the people have to be willing to exercise our rights whether the government wants us to or not.

James Otis put it this way: “There is nothing that will destroy liberty more than a prevailing opinion that is is better tamely to submit than nobly assert and vindicate our privileges”

And Thomas Jefferson might have the best reminder on this: “A free people claim their rights, as derived from the laws of nature, and not as a gift of their chief magistrate”

3. “Refuse to cooperate with officers of the Union.”

That was James Madison’s strategy for states and individuals to keep the feds in check without relying on the federal government to magically limit its own power.

We’ve seen a small handful of states take this essential step – Missouri is the gold standard. Arizona is silver. And Montana takes the bronze. Almost every other state or local “2nd Amendment Sanctuary” creates a sanctuary for nothing.  (we’ll share more details on this soon!)

4. Get rid of state laws restricting the right to keep and bear arms.

Whether it’s state prohibitions that mirror federal ones (like suppressors or bump stocks), removing permit requirements, reciprocity and everything in between.

It’s not difficult for the feds to ban something that most states have already banned.

As I mentioned above, I covered all this in much more detail on an episode of our Path to Liberty Podcast. We’ve got video and audio-only versions on a bunch of platforms  – plus reference links for you to read much more – here:

This is the kind of foundational information we work hard to spread far and wide every single day. Brick-by-brick. Person-by-person, building a strong foundation for the Constitution and liberty.

There’s absolutely nothing that helps us roll up our sleeves and do that work every day more than the financial faith and support of our members. TAC memberships start at just 2 bucks a month – we make every single dollar go a long, long way in support of the Constitution and liberty.

Thank you for reading and for your support!
