NorthWest Property Owners Alliance’s 8th Annual Dinner & Auction
By Jeff Tyler, Out-going President
The NorthWest Property Owners Alliance (NWPOA) annual dinner was held on Saturday Sept. 11th at the Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d’Alene. I was pleased with the turnout and the event itself which included an auction.
It was a successful fund raising dinner and we are going to be able to continue to keep our attorney paid, and fighting for our water rights. The speech by Priscilla Giddings was very heart felt and emotional, on this day being the 20th anniversary of 9-11, when she explained what she has done flying out of Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan.
Then the speech by Norm Semanko gave a lot of detail to where we’re at with the lawsuit with the tribe and the federal government, where the federal government is mostly behind trying to control our water.
The last speaker, George Wentz, gave a great video presentation with some humor involved. He explained to a lot of people who haven’t heard it this way before, about how the left half of our country is mostly owned by the federal government agencies and not the people. Idaho’s land should not be controlled by the federal government. The people of Idaho need Control of all our state’s land.
The following videos and comments are by our new President, Summer Bushnell from NWPOA’s Facebook site:
Idaho Representative Priscilla Giddings speaking at our dinner. She covered a wide variety of topics and inspired us all!
Norm Semanko spoke on the history of the water rights battle in the state of Idaho. He also updated us on how the mediation of the water rights for Lake Coeur d’Alene is going.
Lawyer George Wentz spoke on the history of states’ rights, how it affects property rights, and how it makes the western states not equals of the eastern states.
Wrapping it up was Kootenai County GOP Central Committee chairman, Brent Regan who brought in the bacon for NWPOA by serving as the fun loving auctioneer who was dead serious about getting into your pocket. All who gave, enjoyed doing it for NWPOA.
