RE-ENTRY FACILITY PUBLIC HEARING

RE-ENTRY FACILITY PUBLIC HEARING

Press Release

The Kootenai County Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled a public hearing for 6 p.m. August 27. At that time, the commission will accept public testimony on a draft ordinance addressing re-entry facilities.

The ordinance was drafted in response to the State of Idaho’s interest in possibly locating a re-entry facility within Kootenai County. County Commissioners authorized staff and the Planning Commission to develop an amendment to the Land Use and Development Code to provide for such uses. The draft amendment would only allow the facility if reviewed through a public hearing process and only upon a finding that express standards are met.

The August 27 meeting will be held in Room 1 of the Kootenai County Administration Building and also virtually via Zoom. Space in the meeting room will be limited due to social distancing. The meeting agenda and Zoom meeting link can be viewed here: https://www.kcgov.us/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_08272020-3446

Prior to the public hearing, written comments can be mailed to Kootenai County Community Development, 451 North Government Way, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho 83814, or emailed to David Callahan at dcallahan@kcgov.us
